The Anne Arudnel County Fire Department responded to multiple motor vehicle accidents over the weekend.
Fire officials said, on March 29, a 29-year-old motorcycle rider was taken to Shock Trauma. Firefighters were called to the scene of an accident at 2:01 p.m. There, crews found a single vehicle accident in which a motorcycle with a single rider left the roadway and struck the guardrail.
Paramedics requested a Maryland State Police helicopter which landed near the scene in Waysons Corner. The biker is facing critical and possibly life-threatening injuries.
Saturday, a crew responded to a reported injured person following an ATV accident and found the ATV rider. Fighters said the operator was a 13-year-old male, who was taken to the trauma center at Children’s National with serious injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.
On March 31, firefighters were called to the scene of a motor vehicle collision with a vehicle on fire and an occupant trapped. There, the crew found a minivan, which left the roadway and struck a highway sign post.
The vehicle engine compartment and front portion of the passenger compartment caught fire. The 42-year-old female driver, the car's lone occupant, was removed from the vehicle by Anne Arundel County Police Officers before the arrival of the fire department.
The woman was taken to Shock Trauma with serious but non life-threatening injuries.
