A man was shot by a police officer outside of Dallas's Love Field Airport on Friday afternoon, forcing security delays at the massive transportation hub.
A black male suspect was attacking a woman's car with rocks in the airport's parking lot at about 12 p.m. Friday, according to a Dallas Police Department spokesperson.
The man was approached by a responding officer when the suspect charged at the officer with at least one rock in his hand, according to investigators. The officer "discharged his weapon numerous times" at the suspect.
The man was taken to a hospital after being shot by the officer. A police spokesperson said the unidentified suspect was believed to be conscious when he was taken to the hospital.
The suspect was seen hitting the woman's car with rocks. Investigators believe the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute.
A man whose plane had just landed at the airport posted video of the chaotic scene to his Instagram account. Multiple shots can be heard being fired in the video.
Love Field Airport was put on lockdown following the incident but it reopened shortly after.
There was an emergency shut down due to a shooting outside of Baggage Claim but we have reopened. Safety first.
