ELDERSBURG, Md. — An employee of Dal-Tile in Eldersburg was shot in what the Carroll County Sheriff's Office is investigating as a likely targeted shooting.
On Wednesday morning at 5:16 a.m., deputies responded to a call of hearing gunshots in the area of 1470 Progress Way. There, the Sheriff’s Office and Carroll County Emergency Medical Services found a man suffering from gunshot wounds.
Officials said the victim was flown to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center for further care.
Detectives from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit, as well as Forensic Services Technicians, responded to the scene to continue the investigation. Investigators said the man was an employee of Dal-Tile, and that he was shot outside of the business. They believe the attack was not random, and deputies said there "is no indication of any further threat to the community."
