MOUNT AIRY, Md. — Maryland State Police are investigating a single-vehicle fatal collision that occurred in Carroll County Friday afternoon.
Upon a preliminary investigation, police found that a gray Ford F-150 operated by Michelle Lawson was traveling southbound on Ridge Road in Mt Airy and crossed over the solid double yellow line and into the northbound lane of Ridge Road.
The vehicle then proceeded to travel off the roadway and collide with a tree.
Lawson was pronounced dead at the scene.
There were also two young children in the vehicle who were transported to Johns Hopkins for evaluation and treatment.
