CARROLL COUNTY, Md. — The Carroll County Government Office was evacuated on Sunday due to a suspicious package.
On Sunday, a suspicious package was received by the county and out of an abundance of caution, the building was evacuated while local law enforcement and a Baltimore County HazMat unit investigated.
The county says initial testing of the suspicious substance by HazMat crews determined the substance was non-harmful. The package was sent to a lab for additional testing.
The area has been deemed safe and county employees have been let back in the building and county operations have resumed. There are no illnesses or injuries reported at this time.
