16 Baltimore police officers, 3 civilian employees test positive for COVID-19

BALTIMORE — The Baltimore Police Department announced that 16 police officers and three civilian employees have tested positive for COVID-19, and an additional 63 are out on quarantine.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 315 employees of the department have been quarantined for some length of time due to potential exposure to COVID-19 to include travel from high-risk areas, displaying flu-like symptoms or symptoms of a respiratory illnesses.

Of the 315 employees who have been quarantined, 252 have been cleared to return to work.

The Department is taking the necessary precautions and will continue to follow the recommendations of health officials to keep our officers and communities safe and to minimize the spread of COVID-19.
