20 BPD employees have tested positive for coronavirus, 27 being quarantined

BALTIMORE — Baltimore Police on Wednesday provided an update on cases of COVID-19 within the department.

So far 20 police officers and four civilian employees have tested positive, while 27 other members are being quarantined.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 332 employees have needed to quarantine after potentially being exposed to the virus for various reasons including travel from high-risk areas or displaying flu-like or respiratory illness symptoms. 305 have since been cleared to return to work.

Eight of the members who previously tested positive have also recovered and been cleared to work.
