WESTMINSTER, Md. — On Wednesday, The City of Westminster announced that the 42nd Westminster Fallfest has been canceled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

“Making the decision to cancel Fallfest this year was painful for my Common Council colleagues and I, as Fallfest is one of Westminster’s most popular community events," said Mayor Joe Dominick. "Given the significant resources required to organize such a large scale event and the possibility of a coronavirus surge in the fall, we needed to make the hard call at this time.”

Scheduled for September 24 – 27, the event features carnival rides, food, vendors and entertainment at the Westminster City Park.

“We feel it is in the best interest of our community to keep everyone safe," added Dominick. "There was no way for the City to provide the typical Fallfest experience while being mindful of physical distancing and other COVID-19 related safety guidelines."
