KENT ISLAND, Md. — The Crab Deck is on Kent Island, home of great seafood and a lot of waterfowl. It's not a good sign when there is plenty of room in your parking lot for ducks to waddle around.
Hopefully that is about to change.
Tracy Schultz is one of the owners at the Kent Narrows bridge. The Crab Deck, Fishermans Inn and Fisherman's Market have been in the family since the 1930's.
Few people walking the planet now have experienced anything like this global pandemic. Shutting down was tough and opening up won't be any easier.
"It's not really beneficial for us to open financially, but we're just trying to give people the options," Schultz said. "Come out and have something else to do, another place to go and something else different to eat."
They opened the market on Thursday and while the restaurant is closed, they put a roof over the outside tables.
Just like every other business and restaurant in Maryland and across the nation for that matter, they are looking for a new norm. A new way to do business in these times.
