Community center giving away free meals for kids 18 and under

BALTIMORE — Another local center is giving back while kids are out of school.

The Langston Hughes Community Center began serving meals for kids.

Organizers served lunch on Monday and will begin to serve breakfast as well on Tuesday.

Every day after, breakfast and lunch will be served until further notice.

"People still need to eat and we cannot allow anyone in our community to go hungry. People still need eat," said George Mitchell. "People do need help and being in a community here in Park Heights we helping a lot of people. A lot."

The meals are for kids 18 and under and the food is on a first come first serve basis.

Organizers expect to serve around 100 kids per meal period.
