Local DJ's virtual dance party goes viral

ELLICOTT CITY, Md. — Over the weekend, legendary Hip Hop DJ and rapper Dnice held the biggest digital party ever.

There were more than 70,000 people who tuned in to his Instagram live over more than 8 hours.

A local DJ, name DJ Chris Kopec did the same thing from his home a well.

Alongside his wife and kids, Kopec mixed music for 3 hours on Facebook page. The stream got more than 1 million views and more than 13,000 shares.

Kopec is from Baltimore and he's been scratchin’ and mixing since he was in the 6th grade.

He said he wanted to help bring down the stress level in his home and let everyone have some fun.

"I love music and I know it always brings people together and it just brought people together and brought my family together, but our extended family is now growing by the thousands per hour on our website and on Facebook," said DJ Kopec.

Kopec will hold another quarantine dance party this Wednesday from 7:00 p.m. To 9:00 p.m.

The set will honor the class of 2020.
