BALTIMORE — The Maryland National Guard is getting a field hospital up and running at the Baltimore Convention Center.

There will be 250 beds to treat coronavirus patients.

They're working with the University of Maryland and Johns Hopkins to make it all happen.

"We've done large sale events before. COVID is out adversary and we're here to fight and win just as if we were in Afghanistan. Out soldiers are used to this type of set up. We come in and we live as we have to and then we go out and we do our mission," said Gen. Janeen Birckhead of the Maryland National Guard.

The National Guard also have set up locations in Prince George's and Baltimore counties.
