BALTIMORE — The Baltimore Ravens have donated 3,000 ponchos to a family-owned nursing home and assisted living company in Maryland.
Lorien Health Services will be receiving the ponchos, and use them as personal protective equipment (PPE), for staff treating patients with COVID-19.
When modified, the CDC says rain ponchos can be used by healthcare workers as an effective alternative to medical isolation gowns amid a nationwide PPE shortage.
The spread of COVID-19 has affected over 130 Maryland nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
