BALTIMORE — A Stella Maris resident has recently tested positive for COVID-19 and was placed in isolation.
Stella Maris says they continuesto follow the recommended CDC guidelines for patient testing and contact tracing to safeguard the health of all residents and staff.
More than 130 Maryland nursing homes have now experienced COVID-19 cases with significant outbreaks in facilities across the state.
Stella Maris believes this case is unrelated to recent admissions of other COVID-19 residents.
The other COVID-19 residents were admitted directly into an isolated unit which is separated from the rest of the building.
That unit is equipped with a separate exhaust filtration system and has a dedicated staff of healthcare professionals.
