Stella Maris is one of many nursing homes across the state of Maryland to experience COVID-19 cases.
In regards to their cases, they released the following statement.
Stella Maris is one of more than 130 Maryland nursing homes to experience COVID-19 cases; significant outbreaks have occurred in facilities statewide. All COVID-19 residents are in an isolated unit which is separated from the rest of the building. That unit is equipped with a separate exhaust filtration system and has a dedicated staff of healthcare professionals.
We will continue to be in direct contact with individual families affected by COVID-19 on an ongoing basis in accordance with guidelines set by the Maryland Department of Health and the Baltimore County Department of Health. Like all healthcare workers fighting this pandemic on the frontlines, the staff at Stella Maris continue to take steps to safeguard the health of all residents and staff by following the recommended CDC guidelines.
A Stella Maris resident recently tested positive on Thursday for COVID-19 and was placed in isolation.
