BALTIMORE — A small thank you for making a big difference in the city.

Mayor Jack Young and Congressman Dutch Ruppersberger met with workers from the Safe Streets Cherry Hill program to thank them for their continued commitment to stop violence and their attention on educating the public about COVID-19.

"I asked the question what do you need, well they need the basics. They need some more masks to give to people, so we're going to try to do that. They asked about hand sanitizer, there's someone who's going to donate that, so that's community standing up together."

Mayor Young said the city council will meet tonight to extend the state of emergency.
