BALTIMORE — Two correctional employees and an inmate tested positive for coronavirus.
They're at the Baltimore and Jessup locations.
WMAR-2 News spoke with a correctional officer at the Jessup Correctional Facility.
He said they've had to push for screenings at the door, and more hand sanitizer. They’re also concerned getting straight answers from officials.
“From the first time the medical staff tested positive it took us about 8 or 9 days it took the union to make them admit and confirm this case. That is not okay because you have several officers, several medical staff that has been around this person that first got it,” said Olaniyan Oluwadamilola, DPS Correctional Officer.
The officer said they want the prisons locked down.
According to the department, it's taking appropriate steps to keep everyone safe including, serving grab-and-go meals, and designating isolation areas.
