A 16-year-old boy was shot in the leg in Severn shortly before midnight on Halloween, Anne Arundel County Police said.
A patrol officer heard gunshots coming from Newtowne Drive at about 11:35 p.m.. As officers arrived, they did not find a victim at the scene. A short time later, a walk-in shooting victim was reported at a local hospital.
Police encountered the 16 year old there, who said he was walking in the area when he heard gun shots and took off running, then realized he was struck in the leg. No suspect was located.
