2 men, 1 teen arrested for Annapolis armed robbery; man charged with gun and drug possession

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Two men in their 20s and a 16 year old were arrested and charged with armed robbery, and a 23-year-old man was arrested and charged with gun and drug violations, Annapolis Police said.

On July 25 at about 10:45 a.m., police said a man was walking in the unit block of Melrob Court when he was approached by three male suspects in a car. Two people in the car pointed handguns at the man and demanded his property. The robbers took the victim’s property and fled in the car.

Detectives investigated and identified three suspects from Annapolis: 22-year-old Mahmoud Elsayed, 21-year-old Ronni Alfaro Turcios, and 16-year-old Nelson Rivera, who was charged as an adult. The three are charged with armed robbery and eight other criminal charges, police said. All were being held without bond at the Jennifer Road Detention Center.

Tuesday, at about 11:48 p.m., officers responded to a report of an armed suspects in the unit block of Bens Drive, police said. One suspect fled on foot when officers approached the area. He was then found behind a building. Pursuing officers found a handgun, drugs, and money they believe the suspect tossed. Police said they recovered 19 grams of suspected crack cocaine, five grams of suspected heroin, a loaded handgun, and $3,574 in cash. The handgun was a weapon that had been reported stolen from Howard County.

Police arrested 23-year-old Keonte McGowan of Annapolis. He was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, concealment of a dangerous weapon, and nine other charges. McGowan’s criminal record prohibits him from possessing a fire arm. He is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center with bond.
