A 5-year-old was abducted in Glen Burnie Monday afternoon.

According to police, the child was in the backseat of the vehicle when a man stole the vehicle. The woman who owned the vehicle told police that she stepped out of the car to talk to a friend.

The suspect, who had previously asked her for money outside of a Royal Farms store, jumped into her vehicle and sped away.

An Amber alert was issued. A citizen made contact with the child on a neighborhood sidewalk and took him the Western District Police Station. The child was unharmed and reunited with his mother.

The vehicle was later recovered in the area of 1500 N Fulton Avenue in Baltimore City.

Police are currently searching for the suspect, who is pictured above. He's described as 6 feet tall with a skinny build. He was seen wearing a black and white baseball cap, a black shirt with "Island Quizine" written on the back, black and white Adidas-style pants and black and white shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at 410-222-6135.
