Annapolis bank robbery suspect captured in North Carolina

A man who tried to rob an Annapolis bank Friday afternoon has been captured in North Carolina on Saturday.  

Police were called at 4:30 p.m. on Friday to the Bank of America in the 900 block of Bay Ridge Road for an attempted robbery. A man tried to rob the bank and ran away before police could arrive.  

Detectives were able to identify the man as Gregory Klemkowski, 22, of Annapolis.  

Once detectives identified Klemkowski as the suspect an arrest warrant charging him with attempted robbery was issued.

Police said Saturday morning that Klemkowski was found by the North Carolina Highway Patrol near Durham, North Carolina. He was taken into custody without incident and will be extradited to Maryland.
