Boy, 17, charged as an adult for shooting last Sunday in Annapolis

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WMAR) — Police have arrested a 17-year-old boy for an early morning shooting last Sunday in Annapolis.

Von Franklin was arrested Wednesday and charged as an adult with attempted first degree murder.

Franklin is accused of shooting a 19-year-old man in the buttocks around 3:40 a.m. in the 1800 block of Copeland Street.

The victim told police he heard gunshots while walking in the area, and noticed he'd been shot while trying to run away.

Police also found two unoccupied parked vehicles that were allegedly shot by Franklin.

He's currently being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center without bond. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 410-260-3439.
