ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Two people in Annapolis reported being victims of similar identity theft crimes, the Annapolis Police said.

Both victims reported that, upon their cell phone services being interrupted, they reported the issue to their service providers. The providers said the victims' accounts had been switched to another provider. When the victim’s cell phone numbers were called, other phones that did not belong to them rang. The victims both had Verizon as their chosen carriers and were told the fraudulent service was switched to T-Mobile and AT&T.

Police ask that if anyone suspects something similar happened to their cell phone service, contact police.
