A man was arrested for bringing a loaded gun and ammunition through security at Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, Thursday, Transportation Security Administration confirmed.
A man from Fort Washington, Md., was found with a loaded .22 caliber revolver and a box of ammunition in his carry-on luggage. The weapon was found as his bags passed through the x-ray machine at the TSA checkpoint.
The gun and ammunition were confiscated and the man was arrested and charged with weapons offenses. Such weapons violations can carry civil penalties up to $13,000 and jail time.
The gun was the 11th found by TSA at the airport this year. Last year 26 firearms were found at the BWI checkpoints.
