A driver was arrested Tuesday for an alleged road rage assault involving a gun while driving on Route 100 and Oakwood Road Monday.
At around 5 p.m. Monday, a woman informed an Eastern District Police Station that she had been been driving on Route 100 when a black Dodge cut her off and the driver pointed a gun at her. She was able to obtain the car license plate number prior to the Dodge exiting onto Route 2. Police used the plate information to find the suspect's address and question him about the incident.
No one was home when police responded to the address. After obtaining a search warrant for the suspect's vehicle, where they found a loaded .9mm Ruger handgun in the car during a search Tuesday.
The suspect, Timothy Patrick McGarrahan, 40, of the 600 block of Brightwood Road in Millersville, Md., turned himself in Wednesday. He was charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault, and handgun violations.
