ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Annapolis Police found a passenger in a car who was seriously injured after being assaulted and robbed.
Officials say officers were patrolling the area of the 1300 block of Forest Drive on Tuesday evening when they stopped a car that didn't have their headlights on. During the traffic stop, officers noticed a woman in the driver's seat and a man bleeding from his head in the passenger seat.
The people in the car told police they were robbed in the 1000 block of Martha Court after a fight with a suspect. The man said he saw the suspect in the area when an argument started between the two. He then told police two other men joined the argument and his head was struck with what he believed was a gun during the assault. They say the woman victim intervened in the altercation and the suspects stole her purse.
Following the incident, the man and the woman fled the area in the car officers stopped on Forest Drive.
Police say the injured man was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
