ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WMAR) — Annapolis Police are investigating two separate shootings that happened Sunday.
The first incident was reported around 11 a.m., when officers were called to Anne Arundel County Medical Center to meet with a shooting victim.
There police learned the shooting took place inside a vehicle in the 1900 block of Forest Drive near Dominoe Road.
Police say 37-year-old Marvin Maldonado Tejada allegedly shot the victim in the leg as the two were riding together.
Tejada happened to also be at the hospital and was arrested and charged with attempted first degree murder and eight other crimes.
Officers were able to get into the vehicle the two were in, and recover the gun believed to be used in the shooting.
It's unclear why Tejada shot the victim.
About two miles away, just before 9 p.m. officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Tyler Avenue for a report of shots fired.
While responding to the scene, police received information that someone had been shot.
When they arrived, officers found a 22-year-old man shot to the leg.
Police didn't release any information on what may have led up to the shooting or suspects possibly involved.
