A report of an armed person nearly a mile away causes an elementary school to delay dismissal.
On Monday at approximately 2:20 p.m., Anne Arundel County Police say they responded to the 2600 block of Rainy Spring Way for a subject possibly armed with a rifle.
For safety purposes and due to the nature of the investigation , Anne Arundel County Public Schools delayed student dismissal at nearby Seven Oaks Elementary School.
Responding officers made contact with the individual in question and located what turned out to be a pellet gun.
Upon receiving these findings, the school resumed normal dismissal procedures.
No threats were made toward the school, staff or students.
