After finishing up a day of work, two people came home to their Severn community on Coldbrooke Dr. looking for a relaxing night instead they were greeted by three men with a weapon.
"They were approached by 3 individuals that produced a handgun and demanded money and property from the victims," said Lieutenant Ryan Frashure from Anne Arundel County Police.
The couple turned over some cash and credit cards and the robbers turned and ran away into the night.
Then, when police arrived on the scene they found out that this wasn’t the first time for the victims.
"This is the second time that these two victims had been robbed. The first time was back in September and it was the same," said Lieutenant Frashure.
The robbers targeted business owners in Baltimore city. They would follow them from their work to their homes.
Police soon learned the stolen credit card was used.
"They, in turn, used that credit card at a Walmart in Rosedale and our detectives were able to get video surveillance of the three suspects that matched the descriptions of both robberies …..of the suspects from both robberies," said Lieutenant Frashure.
Police say 31-year-old Anthony King, 17-year-old Melvin Thompson, and 16-year-old of Brekwan McFadden were identified on the surveillance video and were arrested.
After talking with Baltimore county police, Anne Arundel county police learned that there were 8 similar robberies in Baltimore County. In one of the Baltimore County robberies, police say, the suspects fired several rounds at the victims, no one was injured.
"Certainly, pre meditated, this was something that was well planned and well thought out by the suspects," said Lieutenant Frashure.
Police have charged the three in the Baltimore County robberies as well.
