Three men were arrested after breaking into the United States Boat Show and trespassing on a boat, Annapolis Police said.
Nicholas Lewis, 29, Rory Handlin, 24, and Samuel Jenkins, 30, were detained by security personnel after climbing over a fence and entering boat show property. The show is an "in water" boat show, occupying an area of the Annapolis City Dock in downtown Annapolis.
Once inside the show's property, Lewis climbed aboard a boat owned by Robert McGuigan. Because his boat was equipped with sensors and cameras, McGuigan was aware someone was on board as he was in the lower deck. McGuigan walked to the top deck and confronted Lewis, who ran off.
McGuigan gave chase, being joined by on duty security officers. Handlin, Lewis, and Jenkins were apprehended.
Annapolis Police responded at about 2:45 a.m. Sunday, taking over the apprehension and charging the suspects.
Handlin and Jenkins were charged with trespassing and later released. Lewis was charged with fourth-degree burglary. He was taken to the court commissioners office and released to Watkins security.
