A woman said she was punched in the back and thrown down the stairs during a robbery in an Annapolis apartment building. 

Officers responded to the area of the 1100 block of Madison Street around 3:30 Thursday morning after reports of a woman screaming for help in the stairwell. When they got to the scene they found a woman lying on the floor at the bottom of the stairs with an ankle injury. 

The woman reported she was punched in the back and thrown down the stairs. She then said two men stole her purse and ran away. 

Police were able to identify and arrest two suspects, Keithan Howard an Robert Williams. Howard was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit robbery and possession of CDS. Williams was arrested and charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, theft, assault, reckless endangerment, and conspiracy to commit theft.
