BALTIMORE (WMAR) — A 40-year-old man is the third victim shot and killed in Baltimore in less than 24 hours.

Police say it happened just after 7 p.m. when patrol officers in the Southwest District first heard gunfire and began to investigate.

Minutes later, a call was dispatched for a shooting in the 2900 block of W. Mulberry Street. There, police found Anthony Grandison suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased by paramedics on scene.

The incident is Baltimore's 64th homicide of the year, and the 10th since Michael Harrison was sworn in as the department's new Police Commissioner on March 12.

Homicide detectives are also continuing to investigate two overnight murders that took the lives of a 29 and 23-year-old.
