Baltimore man pleads guilty to armed robbery of mail carrier

According to the plea agreement, on the morning of December 29 Idialyon Helm robbed a USPS letter carrier at gunpoint while on his route on Chesterfield Avenue. The Baltimore man took the victim’s wallet, smartwatch, among other things.

The 21-year-old also admitted he committed two other robberies/attempted robberies just days before. On Christmas day, Helm approached a male victim outside of a convenience store on Caton Avenue, he pointed a handgun at him and stole his Ugg Boots. Later that afternoon, Helm also attempted to rob a female victim at an M&T Bank ATM on Belair Road. He approached her, pointed a silver handgun at her, but she ran away.

With this plea deal Helm has agreed to a total of 10 years in prison. His sentencing is scheduled for March 19 and he will remain detained pending sentencing.
