BALTIMORE — A Baltimore Police officer was struck while pursuing a suspect on foot in Carrollton Ridge Friday afternoon.

Police said the incident happened at 12:48 p.m., near the intersection of S. Monroe Street and Wilhelm Street. The vehicle that struck the officer fled the scene. Police did not say if the vehicle that struck the officer was otherwise involved in a crime or the initial pursuit, nor if the suspect the officer was originally pursuing on foot was apprehended.

The officer was transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center with non-life-threatening injuries following the incident, said officer Nikki Fennoy, a police spokesperson. His left arm and leg were injured, and the injuries were considered minor.
