Blocks apart, 2 shot within 30 minutes in West Baltimore

In a roughly 30-minute window from Tuesday into Wednesday, two men were shot within about two blocks in West Baltimore, police said.

At about 11:43 p.m., patrol officers responded to the unit block of Poppleton Street for a reported shooting. There they found a 19-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the foot. He was taken to an area hospital where he was listed in good condition.

At 12:05 a.m. Wednesday, officers investigating the Poppleton Street shooting hear several gunshots coming from just north of their location. Police on foot headed to the 800 block of Vine Street, where they found a 50-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the back. He was taken to an area hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
