A Baltimore City Schools Police officer was involved in a non-fatal shooting in the 4200 block of Frederick Avenue and South Augusta Avenue in southwest Baltimore Wednesday morning.

The incident happened within two blocks of city schools. A preliminary investigation showed the shooting wasn't school-related.

Baltimore City Police said the school officer witnessed a suspect shooting at someone else from a car and fired at the suspect, who then crashed his car.

School Police Union president Sgt. Clyde Boatwright said the incident has been turned over to Baltimore City Police.
