A 34-year-old felon was arrested on Wednesday after an officer saw him sitting at a table inside a gas station with a bag of suspected marijuana.
Police say an officer entered the Shell Gas station in the 4500 block of Edmondson Ave when he noticed a man, 34-year-old Carlton March, sitting at a table with a clear plastic bag of suspected drugs.
When March saw the officer, he tried to hide the bag, but the officer told him to hand it over. As March handed over the bag, he said, "it's only weed," according to police.
The officer then searched March and found more marijuana and a handgun. He was then arrested and taken to Central Book where he was charged with handgun and narcotics violations.
