Five killed, eight wounded in Baltimore since Friday

Baltimore Police are investigating a late Sunday evening homicide, making it the cities fifth death since Friday.

The latest came around 8 p.m. in the 2200 block of Christian Street in the Southwest District. There officers found an adult male shot to the head and torso. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Ninety minutes later a female was shot in the leg in the 400 block of N. Curley Street in Southeast Baltimore.

Earlier on Sunday at 1 a.m. a 20-year-old man was robbed and shot after three masked men approached him as he was sitting in a vehicle in the 2700 block of Mayfield.

On Saturday three people were killed and four others were wounded.

Just after 12:30 a.m. 52-year-old Jacquelyn Smith was stabbed to death in the 1000 block of Valley Street after giving money to a woman she thought was homeless.

Hours later just after 10:30 a.m. a 39-year-old was critically injured after being shot in the 1900 block of Druid Hill Avenue.

Less than two hours later a male sustained a gunshot wound to the leg in the 400 block of Lyman in North Baltimore.

Later that night before 7 p.m. Eastern District officers responded to the 2400 block of Brentwood where they found three victims shot, two of which later died.

Less than an hour later a man was wounded in the 1200 E. Lafayette Avenue.

Then on Friday one person was killed and two others were shot within an hour.

Before 1 p.m. a 19-year-old was shot to the leg in the 1200 block of W. North Avenue.

Less than a half hour later a man was shot in the 900 block of Honaker Court. Eleven minutes later a man was shot and killed in the 5400 block of Reisterstown Road.
