BALTIMORE — The father and daughter accused of murdering Jacquelyn Smith in Baltimore last year, then blaming a panhandler, are expected to be extradited back to Maryland on Wednesday.

On December 1, 2018, Jacquelyn had died after being stabbed by a panhandler who she was giving money to, according to Baltimore Police. Months later it was revealed that her husband, Keith Smith, and step-daughter, Valeria Smith, were the ones who allegedly murdered her.

They were arrested earlier this month in Texas near the U.S. Mexico border and were denied bail.

When they get back to Baltimore City, they'll make an appearance in court.

Police have not talked about a motive for the murder, but members of Jacquelyn Smith's family have said they believe it had something to do with money.
