An investigation that started as an assault is now being looked at as a homicide.
On July 22, officers responded to the call for an assault in the unit block of East Cross Street just after 1 a.m.
Once on scene, police discovered an unresponsive man, later identified as Edralin Montebon, 34.
Montebon was taken to a nearby hospital where he died on July 25.
In the initial investigation, detectives determined that the Mr. Montebon was in a physical altercation with acquaintances on the night he was injured.
Now police say they are working to identify a man shown in an area surveillance video from the night of the incident for homicide charges.
