Baltimore Police say the man accused of killing a Baltimore woman and her boyfriend turned out to be the woman’s nephew.
It only took officers a few hours to find 30-year-old Tavon Brand.
Now he’s charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
Police say Tavon lived in his aunt, Rona Brand’s, basement. Officers found her along with her long-time boyfriend, Clyde Burrell, with gunshot wounds to the head.
It happened Monday afternoon around 4 p.m. inside the home they all shared.

Once investigators found Tavon, police say he admitted to everything.
“Mr. Brand, upon being taken down to the homicide division to be interviewed, subsequently admitted to the murder of both of those individuals. He also led investigators to the murder weapon that was used in that particular incident and he has since been charged of the crime of murder,” Deputy Commissioner Andre Bonaparte said.
Tavon Brand is known to the Baltimore Police Department.
According to police, he’s been arrested more than 20 times.
He eventually told police where the murder weapon was. Officers found it under a mattress two blocks from the shooting.
