Man fatally injured in stabbing in South Baltimore, while another was shot in NW Baltimore

BALTIMORE — Detectives are investigating a fatal stabbing and a shooting that happened on Saturday morning.

The homicide incident occurred first at a little before 1:30 a.m. Southern District patrol officers were called to the 5700 block of Pennington Avenue to investigate a reported stabbing. Officers arrived to find a man suffering from multiple stab wounds. A medic arrived and transferred the victim to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. However, the victim ended up succumbing to his injuries and was pronounced dead by medical personnel.

The victim has been identified, but, at the moment, his identity has not been released.

Homicide detectives haven taken control of this fatal incident, so anyone with information is asked to contact them at (410) 396-2100.

The shooting happened at about 7:50 a.m. when police were called to the 5100 block of Reisterstown Road. When officers arrived, they found an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. A medic was called and the victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Police later identified the victim as 35-year-old Larry Petway.
