A 29-year-old man was shot in Baltimore's Beechfield neighborhood midday Thursday, Baltimore Police said.
Officers responded to the 4900 block of Williston Street at 1:29 p.m. for a reported shooting. There, police found the gunshot victim. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
The man was later identified as Lavern Smalls. He succumbed to his injuries later at the hospital.
