A notorious member of a local gang was found guilty of various weapons and narcotics charges on Tuesday.

Officials say Malik Baker was arrested on January 18 after an officer saw him in a corner store in the 2400 block of E. Monument Street. The officer was walking past the store when he locked eyes with Baker.

The officer came into the store so Baker darted to the back to try and hide a handgun under the counter. Officers found him still bent besides the counter with a handgun by his feet. While officers were arresting Baker they found a loaded gun, a bag containing 12 vials of cocaine and $185 on him.

Baker will be sentenced on October 18 and is facing a maximum of 43 years in prison.
