Officials say a man was shot in the leg in Northwest Baltimore

BALTIMORE, Md. — Baltimore Police are investigating a Friday night shooting that happened in Northwest Baltimore.

At a little before 7:30 p.m., officers were called to the 4900 block of Reisterstown Road to investigate reports of gunfire in that area. They arrived and began searching for evidence of a shooting. A short time later, officers were dispatched to an area hospital to investigate a walk-in shooting victim that was seeking treatment.

Citywide Shooting detectives arrived and took control of the investigation. The victim, a 26-year-old man, ended up telling detectives that he heard gunfire and realized that he was shot in the leg.
