One dead, another injured in Baltimore City shootings Wednesday night

BALTIMORE — Baltimore City Police are investigating two shootings that left one person dead and another injured on Wednesday.

According to police, at about 8:57 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 2100 block of Wilkens Avenue to investigate a reported shooting.

Upon arrival, they found a 20 year-old woman with a gunshot wound. She was transported to an area hospital.

Detectives learned the victim was shot in the 600 block of South Smallwood Street.

Less than an hour later, officers were dispatched to the 3800 Potee Street to investigate another shooting.

There they observed a 37 year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to an area hospital and pronounced dead by medical personnel.
