Senior citizen found dead after hit and run; BPD seek vehicle involved

BALTIMORE — A senior citizen has died after being involved in an apparent hit and run on August 6.

According to police, just before 10 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 6200 block of York Road to investigate a report of an injured person.

Upon arrival, they found an unconscious pedestrian lying in the roadway. He was pronounced dead by medical personnel.

Officials say the victim, 75-year-old Thomas Bannister, was struck by a vehicle.

C.R.A.S.H. Team investigators are trying to locate a Volkswagen with damage to the front and possibly front windshield.
