Baltimore City Police have arrested 35-year-old Daniel Greene for the murder of a Baltimore County volunteer firefighter.
Police say after interviewing witnesses, viewing video footage, and combing through physical evidence, they were able to identify Greene and arrest him without incident on Tuesday afternoon.
"Fortunately, we had cooperation from people who were involved. We were able to identify Mr. Greene relatively quick, and for the family's sake we got in a warrant and arrested him yesterday in Norrisville, Md.," said Baltimore City Police Detective Donny Moses.
Officers were called to 31-year-old Jon Hickey’s home in the 1800 block of E. Pratt St. on November 30. They found him dead inside, and an autopsy confirmed it was a homicide.
Police aren't saying the connection between Greene and Hickey, but ABC2 has learned that Hickey was dating Greene's ex-girlfriend.
"It was domestic-related. For lack of better words, it was part of a triangle. Unfortunately, Mr. Hickey in this case, was new to the party and unfortunately, he lost his life as a result," said Detective Moses.

Even though Hickey had only lived in the Upper Fells Point neighborhood around three months, his death has made an impression.
"When we heard it was domestic, I think there was a little bit of a mood switch from real fear into okay, this was domestic so we're not under siege but more sorrow for Jon. Just 31, got a great life ahead of you and this thing gets tangled up ," said Jeannette Belliveau, a neighbor of Hickey's.
Belliveau also wants to let the family and Hickey's mother know that he wasn't alone.
"If she could just know, as best we could, several of the neighbors stood vigil when the body came out and hope she can come to terms with it, we're praying for her," said Belliveau.
Several Baltimore County volunteer fire companies posted on social media that Hickey had worked for them.
He was also accepted as a recruit for the Baltimore Fire Department. On Thursday, departments around the area will ring Jon's last alarm.
His funeral service is also being held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Haight Funeral Home and Chapel in Eldersburg.
Greene was taken to Central Booking where he has been charged with 1st Degree Murder; he is currently waiting to see a court commissioner.
