BALTIMORE — Baltimore Police arrested a 53-year-old man in connection with a domestic-related shooting that left a 52-year-old woman suffering from gunshot wounds to the back Saturday.

On July 6, officers responded to a home in the 1200 block of Meridene Drive at about 8:50 a.m., police said. There they found the woman suffering from gunshot wounds to the back. When police took her to the hospital, she said she had been arguing with her boyfriend, who then shot her.

Shooting detectives from the Northeast District took over the investigation and got a warrant for the arrest of their suspect, 53-year-old Anthony Washington, Sr.

Later Saturday, police arrested Washington following a brief foot chase. Washington still had a gun on him at the time of the arrest, Baltimore Police said. He was taken to Central Booking where he was charged with first-degree attempted murder.
