Police are investigating after a man is shot and killed Monday evening in Baltimore.

At around 4:40 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Dolphin and McCulloh Streets, for a report of shots fired.

Upon their arrival units located a man suffering from gunshot wounds to the body.

Before paramedics could get there, Jennifer Nelson, a Shock Trauma nursing student was in the area and saw the victim in need of medical attention;

"I was driving home on MLK and made a left on McCulloh and I saw a gentleman laying on the ground with blood coming out from his head, so I pulled over to do what I could. I gave him chest compressions."

The victim was eventually transported to Shock Trauma where he later died.

Just a few hours later, a little over a mile away the 5-year-old sister of Taylor Hayes was shot in the 1000 block of McKean Avenue.

These latest incidents come after a weekend that saw a man killed and four others wounded.
